How to make Wiltshire Devizes pie:
A regional meat pie.


any cold leftover meat
1/2 lb shortcrust pastry
3 hard boiled eggs
cayenne pepper
(see measure conversions for more information)


- Season the meat and place in a pie dish in layers with the eggs cut in rings.
- Fill the dish with rich clear gravy.
- Cover the pie with pastry and bake in a moderate oven 160oc/325of/gas mark 3 for about an hour or until meat cooked.
- Turn into a dish when cold.
- Garnish the edge with parsley and serve.
