How to make Tonbridge biscuits:
A simple biscuit from Tonbrige in Kent. The addition of caraway seeds are an interesting feature.



Ingredients

3oz butter
8oz plain/all purpose flour
3oz caster/superfine sugar
1 whole egg, beaten
1 egg white, beaten to glaze
caraway seeds for sprinkling
(see measure conversions for more information)

Method

- Rub the butter into the flour until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
- Stir in the sugar.
- Add the egg and mix to a stiff paste.
- Roll out on a lightly floured surface, until about 1/4 inch thick.
- Prick the top with a fork and cut into rounds with a 2 inch plain cutter.
- Brush with the egg white and sprinkle on the caraway seeds.
- Put on to greased baking trays and bake at 350oF/180oC/gas mark 4 for about 10 minutes or until light brown.

The PROBLEM is that I have too much stuff in my kitchen. But, I now have gotten a small china hutch from my MIL (She moved).

I am not using it for china.

This morning I moved all of my spices to the top area: I had NO! idea I had that many spices! I lined them up in the front so I could see those tiny containers, and I have 4 rows of them. No more fishing in the cupboard for the tiny things!!!!!!!!!
