How to make Staffordshire whip syllabub:
Syllabub is a very ancient dessert, traditionally supposed to have originated from milking a cow directly into a bowl of wine. This is a variation on that idea.


1/2 gill brandy
1/2 gill sweet wine
4 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 pints cream
1 lemon (juice and rind)

- Whisk all the ingredients together well.
- Divide equally for serving.
