How to make Poor Knights of Windsor:
A nice simple idea to try with leftover bread.

8 slices of bread, cut to 1/4 inch thickness
a little white wine or a mixture of milk and sugar
fat for frying
jam, sugar or cinnamon
(see measure conversions for more information)

- Pour the wine or milk into a shallow dish and dip the slices of bread into it so that they are coated on both sides.
- Heat the fat and fry the bread gently, turning it over once.
- Serve at once with sugar, jam or cinnamon.
