How to make Oxfordshire Brasenose Ale:
This is served in Brasenose College hall, in an enormous silver tankard, after dinner on Shrove Tuesday.


6 quarts of ale
nutmeg and clove
6 roast apples
(see measure conversions for more information)


- Heat the ale.
- Season with nutmeg and cloves.
- Add sugar to taste.
- Float the apples in it.
