3/4 cup currants
pinch of salt
a little water to mix
2 tablespoons sugar
a little lemon juice
1 teaspoon baking powder
lard for frying

- Add currants.
- Make light dough with a little water and add lemon juice.
- Shape the dough into small pieces and roll out on a board.
- Fry in lard until golden brown.
- Serve hot.
