1/2 cup lard
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
pinch cayenne pepper
1 1/4 cups cheese cut in very thin flakes, mixed with butter
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Roll out very thin on a board and cut into circles the size of a saucer.
- Put a tablespoon of the cheese in the centre and sprinkle with cayenne pepper.
- Moisten the edges of the pasties and fold up.
- Brush over with beaten egg.
- Bake in a hot oven 200oc/400of/gas mark7 for about 15 - 20 minutes and serve hot.
