A traditional recipe from Warwickshire in the midlands of England. Crayfish were at one time readily available in this area and this explains the origin of the dish.

  • 3 crayfish, boiled
  • 6 pieces of buttered toast
  • a little seasoning
  • 6 rashers of bacon
(see measure conversions for more information on quantites)

  1. Cut the bacon into small pieces and fry gently in a frying pan.
  2. Cut up the cooked crayfish into small pieces and add to the bacon when there is enough fat in the pan for them not to stick.
  3. Fry for a few minutes, season, and spoon mixture onto the buttered toast.
