spring onions, trimmed and cut into 1 inch lengths
7-spice mixture called shichimi
kebab sticks
2 fluid oz sake
2 1/2 tablespoons sweet rice wine
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Bring to the boil then remove from the heat.
- Thread the chicken and onion onto the kebab sticks.
- Coat each kebab in the sauce.
- Grill or barbeque for 2 minutes then dip into the sauce again.
- Grill or barbeque until browned.
- Dip into the sauce again and sprinkle with the seven-spice powder.
- Serve.

How to make yakitori:
A great oriental chicken dish.
Ingredients
2lb chicken thighs and drumsticks, boned and cut into 1 inch squaresspring onions, trimmed and cut into 1 inch lengths
7-spice mixture called shichimi
kebab sticks
for the sauce:
6 fluid oz dark soy sauce2 fluid oz sake
2 1/2 tablespoons sweet rice wine
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar

Method
- Put the soy sauce, sake, rice wine and sugar into a saucepan.- Bring to the boil then remove from the heat.
- Thread the chicken and onion onto the kebab sticks.
- Coat each kebab in the sauce.
- Grill or barbeque for 2 minutes then dip into the sauce again.
- Grill or barbeque until browned.
- Dip into the sauce again and sprinkle with the seven-spice powder.
- Serve.
