4 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups plain white flour
1 teaspoon salt
6 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons sultanas
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 pint milk
1 egg, beaten
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Rub the butter in lightly.
- Add the sugar and sultanas and mix to a soft dough with the milk.
- Turn onto a floured board and roll out to half inch thickness.
- Cut into rounds using a shaped cutter or teacup.
- Place on a greased baking tray and brush over with a little beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes at 210 degrees centigrade.
- Cool on rack and eat with butter, cream and your favourite jam/jelly!

Hi, I already try your recipe. It's awesome. I got around 50 1 1/2" fluted round scones.

I think that the number of scones made rather depends on the size of the cutter used.
