1/2 tablespoon Demerara sugar
1/2 pint cold tea
1 egg, beaten
2 tablespoons marmalade
2 cups self raising flour
mixed spice
a pinch of salt
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Next day add to this mixture the flour, beaten egg, marmalade, pinch of salt and spices.
- Mix together very well.
- Turn into a well greased loaf tin and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (see temperature conversions) for about 1 1/2 hours.
- Serve like bread spread with butter.
