2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 large onion, peeled and finely chopped
1 clove garlic, peeled and crushed
1 tablespoon tomato puree
1 tablespoon Demerara sugar
2 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon runny honey
1/2 pint vegetable stock
juice half lemon
freshly ground black pepper and salt
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Sprinkle them with salt and roast at 190 degrees C. for about 30 minutes in a lidded roasting tin.
- Remove from the heat.
- Add all the remaining sauce ingredients and season to taste.
- Mix well.
- Pour the sauce over the meat in the roasting tin and cover with lid.
- Cook for a further 1 - 1 1/2 hours or until the meat is tender.

These spare ribs taste great and are relatively easy to prepare. Make sure you do enough ribs to keep everyone happy!Ingredients

Method
- Brush the ribs with the oil.- Sprinkle them with salt and roast at 190 degrees C. for about 30 minutes in a lidded roasting tin.
To make the sauce:
- Heat some oil in a frying pan and gently fry the onion and garlic until golden.- Remove from the heat.
- Add all the remaining sauce ingredients and season to taste.
- Mix well.
- Pour the sauce over the meat in the roasting tin and cover with lid.
- Cook for a further 1 - 1 1/2 hours or until the meat is tender.
