Sauce & Pickle Recipes > Sweet and Sour Sauce
2 tablespoons very finely chopped onion
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 tablespoon tomato puree
2 teaspoons oil
1/2 pint water
1 dessertspoon cornflour
2 teaspoons soy sauce
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Add the water.
- Stir well.
- Cook over a low heat until thickened.
- Add the oil, pineapple and onion and cook for a further 5 minutes stirring occasionally.
- Serve with pork, chicken, vegetables etc.

- Stir well.
- Cook over a low heat until thickened.
