4oz butter
4oz sugar
8oz self raising flour
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground mixed spice
4oz sultanas
1 tablespoon vinegar
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Sieve the flour with the spices.
- Add the flour and spices to the creamed mixture.
- Add the sultanas and the vinegar.
- Add the apple puree.
- Pour in the mixture into a well-greased 7 inch tin.
- Bake at 180 degrees C. for 1 hour 30 minutes.
- Cool on a wire rack.

How to make spiced apple cake:
Apple cakes are extremely moist and need to be eaten quite quickly. That will not be a problem when you make this spicy, sweet cake.

1/2 pint sweetened apple puree made from cooked and sieved apples4oz butter
4oz sugar
8oz self raising flour

Method
- Cream the butter and sugar.- Sieve the flour with the spices.
- Add the flour and spices to the creamed mixture.
- Add the sultanas and the vinegar.
- Add the apple puree.
- Pour in the mixture into a well-greased 7 inch tin.
