How to make shortbread 2:
A variation on the shortbread recipe which includes baking powder.


6 heaped tablespoons plain flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup butter
a little almond essence

- Sift the flour and baking powder together.
- Cream the butter and sugar.
- Mix the flour and baking powder into the creamed ingredients.
- Placed onto a greased baking tray and smooth flat.
- Bake in oven 160 degrees centigrade (see temperature conversions) for about 30 minutes.
- The shortbread should be light golden brown in colour.
