a pinch of salt
3/4 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 large egg
1 1/2 tablespoons caraway seeds
milk to mix
juice of 1 large lemon
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Rub in the butter and stir in the sugar.
- Mix in the egg and lemon juice and enough milk to give a soft dropping consistency.
- Spoon into a 7" well greased tin and bake for about 1 1/2 hours at 375 degrees F (see temperature conversions).

How to make seed cake:
Seed cake is an acquired taste. The caraway seeds have a strong aniseed flavor. This was a great favorite at Victorian tea tables.Ingredients
3 cups self raising floura pinch of salt
