1 teaspoon salt
pinch pepper
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon finely chopped sage
2 level tablespoons butter
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Just cover with boiling water.
- Simmer for 8-10 minutes until tender.
- Stir in the breadcrumbs, sage, pepper and butter.
- Stir until a smooth, stiff mixture is obtained.
- Allow to cool slightly.
- Use on the day of making.

How to make sage & onion stuffing:
A very traditional stuffing for poultry. It is used to fill the cavities in poultry or as an accompaniment to other meats. It can also be used in vegetarian dishes such as stuffed marrow.
Ingredients
4 medium sized chopped onions1 teaspoon salt
pinch pepper
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon finely chopped sage

Method
- Put the chopped onions into a pan.- Just cover with boiling water.
- Simmer for 8-10 minutes until tender.
- Stir in the breadcrumbs, sage, pepper and butter.
- Stir until a smooth, stiff mixture is obtained.

- Use on the day of making.
