4 heaped tablespoons white flour
1 free-range organic egg
enough fresh or dried yeast for this amount of flour according to instructions on packet
pinch of salt
1/4 pint milk
oil for frying
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Add the yeast to the warm milk, blending it in.
- Leave for 10 minutes.
- Place all the flour and the salt in a basin and then add the egg and the milk and yeast mixture.
- Beat until a thick batter is formed.
- Heat a small amount of oil in a heavy based frying pan until very hot.
- To fry one pancake spoon a thin layer of batter into the hot pan, cook until set and then turn or toss over.
- Stack pancakes on a plate and keep in a warm oven until all batter has been used.

- Beat until a thick batter is formed.
