How to make quick sausage and lentil stew:
A tasty, meaty dish that is quick and easy to cook.


3 rashers bacon
6 pork sausages
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 cup (8oz) lentils
2 onions peeled, kept whole with 3 cloves stuck in each
1 bouquet garni
salt and freshly ground black pepper
spring onions for garnish
finely chopped parsley for garnish
(see measure conversions for more information)


- Put the oil into a large, shallow pan with a lid.
- Brown the bacon and sausage in the oil.
- Add the lentils, onions and bouquet garni.
- Season.
- Cover with cold water.
- Bring to the boil.
- Turn down the heat, cover with lid and simmer for about 40 minutes.
- The lentils should be tender and the liquid should all be absorbed.
- Take out the bouquet garni and onions.
- Served garnished with parsley and spring onions.
