How to make peanut butter cookies:

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method

- Sift the flour, baking powder, salt and bicarbonate of soda together.
- Cream the butter with the peanut butter.
- Add both sugars.
- Mix very well.
- Beat in the egg.
- Add the vanilla.
- Mix in the flour gradually.
- Stir until smooth.
- Put in the fridge for 1 hour.
- Shape into balls.
- Put the balls onto an ungreased baking sheet 2 inches apart.
- Press with the prongs of a fork twice to make a criss cross pattern.
- Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit (see temperature conversions) for 10-12 minutes.
