Main Meal Recipes > Oysters
Oysters are molluscs which in modern times are regarded as something of a luxury. About 150 years ago oysters were much more more common along the coasts of Britain and where therefore cheap. They were often added to other dishes such as beef pies and puddings and not regarded as luxurious in any way. Here is a recipe you can try:
8oz rump steak, 1 inch thick
freshly ground black pepper
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Fill this with oysters seasoned with pepper.
- Fry or grill according to taste.
