Onion Soup Recipe

A standard and economical onion soup recipe that makes a tasty lunchtime snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 large onions
  • 2 medium sized potatoes
  • rib of celery
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 pint milk
  • 1 1/2 pints water
  • seasoning
(see measure conversions for more information on quantites)

Method

  1. Prepare the vegetables and cut them in small pieces.
  2. Boil until soft in the water.
  3. Blend in a blender.
  4. Return to the saucepan, add the milk and butter.
  5. Season to taste.
  6. Simmer for 5 minutes and serve hot.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Yield: 4 portions
