1 small onion peeled and chopped
1/4 level teaspoon ground ginger
1 can condensed tomato soup
1/2 can (using above empty can) water
1 teaspoon Worcester sauce
1 bay leaf
pinch of mixed spice
2 level tablespoons clear honey
3 cups lean lamb, cubed
2 heaped tablespoons plain flour
1 cup blackcurrants
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Add onion and ginger and fry until golden brown.
- Add tomato soup, water, Worcester sauce, bay leaf, spice and honey.
- Bring the ingredients to the boil, stirring all together, and strain.
- Toss the meat in the flour and fry in a little butter for a few minutes.
- Put the sauce and meat into a casserole and add the blackcurrants.
- Cook at approx. 170 degrees centigrade (see temperature conversions) for about 1 1/2 - 2 hours.
