This is a cocktail made from white wine with the addition of vermouth and lemon balm. Melissa is the Latin name for lemon balm and adds a spicy lemon flavour to the drink.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup lemon balm leaves, washed and bruised
  • 1 bottle white wine
  • lemon
  • measure of vermouth
(see measure conversions for more information on quantites)

Method

  1. Put the lemon balm and wine into a jug and leave in the fridge for 4 hours.
  2. Strain.
  3. Put 1 measure of vermouth into a glass and top up with the wine.
  4. Add ice and lemon.
