1 cup (8oz) caster/superfine sugar
2 cups (1lb) ground almonds
2 eggs beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
few drops of lemon juice (optional)
few drops of natural food colouring
cloves and angelica to decorate
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Stir in the eggs and vanilla essence and mix to a stiff dough.
- If the dough is too stiff, add a few drops of lemon juice.
- Knead lightly.
- Colour small pieces of the marzipan and roll into fruit shapes.
- Use cloves or pieces of angelica as stems.
- Place in paper cases to serve.
