4 large potatoes
2 onions
3/4 pint water
salt
pepper
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Peel the potatoes and cut them into chunks.
- Peel and slice the onions.
- Put all the ingredients into a deep casserole in alternate layers of meat, potatoes and onions.
- Season each layer.
- Pour the water over and put the lid on the casserole.
- Cook for 4 hours in a very slow oven.
