1 heaped tablespoon butter
6 tablespoons evaporated milk
4 tablespoons chopped walnuts
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Bring to the boil.
- Boil gently until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from the heat and beat vigorously until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Fold in the chopped nuts.
- Pour into a greased tray.
- Allow to set a little and mark into squares.

How to make home-made candy:
This is a recipe for a traditional tablet style candy. It is something like a fairly firm fudge with nuts for added texture and taste. See Cooking with Sugar for information on the tricky process of boiling sugar.
Ingredients
2 1/2 cups Demerara sugar1 heaped tablespoon butter
6 tablespoons evaporated milk
4 tablespoons chopped walnuts

- Boil gently until the mixture thickens.
- Remove from the heat and beat vigorously until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
