1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 cup currants
1 cup water
2 teaspoons of mixed spice
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Add the currants, water and mixed spice.
- Cool.
- Stir in the flour.
- Mix well.
- Put into a 7 inch greased tin.
- Place in oven at 200 degrees centigrade (see temperature conversions) for 1 hour.

How to make Giggle cake:
A simple cake with an unusual name. Does anybody know how this cake came by its name?Ingredients

My nan used to make a cake called giggle cake similar to this recipe but it had cherries in it also plus stout, now I dont know the exact quantity of alcohol used in it but I was always told this is where the cake got it's giggle!
