This is a recipe loosely based on Salade Nicoise. Salade Nicoise is usually served as a main meal - a meal in itself but a smaller version can be served as a starter.

Is the above salad served with a beef meal? or is this salad a meal in of itself? I am serving a French Dinner as part of a gormet club this Saturday evening. We are serving a beef done with a merloe wine. I would appreciate help. Also, is the salad served at a certain time in the menu?
