2 tablespoons caster/superfine sugar
1 tablespoon golden syrup
6 tablespoons butter
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in the oats and mix well.
- Press the mixture firmly into a shallow, well greased tin and place in the oven at 170 degrees centigrade (see temperature conversions) for about 35 minutes.
- Leave to cool and then cut into generous portions while still warm, being careful not to burn yourself or your mouth!

How to make flapjacks:
Basically this is a cookie which consists of oats held together by a toffee. They keep well, are satisfying and easy to make.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups oats2 tablespoons caster/superfine sugar

I followed the recipe, many thanks was OK but flapjack crumbled a bit to much, I used large porridge oat's, any idea's. Thanks. :)

For a change, add chopped nuts or/and chopped mixed fruit to the basic receipe. Very tasty!
