2/3 cup dark soft brown sugar
2 teaspoons molasses
1 1/4 cup milk
1 cup self-rising flour
3/4 cup chopped dried figs
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Mix well together and leave to stand for half an hour.
- Sift in the flour, mixing well.
- Put the mixture into a greased 1lb loaf tin and bake in a preheated moderate oven at 180 degree centigrade (see temperature conversions) for 45 to 60 minutes.
- Turn out of the tin and allow to cool.
- Served sliced with butter.

How to make fig loaf:
The addition of figs and molasses makes this fruit loaf rich, dark and moist.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups All-Bran2/3 cup dark soft brown sugar
