How to make courgette, onion and tomato gratin:
A healthy and simple oven dish to try.


1 onion, peeled and sliced
4 large tomatoes, skinned and sliced
2 courgettes/zucchinis, sliced
1 pint cheese sauce (white sauce with cheese to taste)
1 oz butter
grated cheese and breadcrumbs mixed for topping
salt and black pepper

- Fry the onions gently in the butter until soft.
- Put a layer of onion then courgette then tomato into an ovenproof dish.
- Pour a layer of cheese sauce onto the layer of vegetables.
- Repeat the process until all the ingredients have been used up.
- Sprinkle the mixed cheese and breadcrumbs on top.
- Bake at 180 degrees centigrade for about 30 minutes.
