1 1/4 cups brown sugar
2 cups cake flour
1 egg
3/4 pint cold tea
a few cherries
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Next day add egg, flour and cherries.
- Put into 2 pound greased loaf tin.
- Bake in oven at 170 degrees centigrade (see temperature conversions) for 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
- The cake is ready when it is firm to the touch.

How to make cold tea cake:
A lovely moist type of fruit loaf. Eat on its own or spread with butter or even eat with jam and clotted cream.Ingredients

By not adding sugar it is an excellent cake for anybody on a diet.
I just sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon over the mixture once it's in the loaf tin.
