1 1/4 cups brown sugar
2 cups cake flour
1 egg
3/4 pint cold tea
a few cherries
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Next day add egg, flour and cherries.
- Put into 2 pound greased loaf tin.
- Bake in oven at 170 degrees centigrade (see temperature conversions) for 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
- The cake is ready when it is firm to the touch.

How to make cold tea cake:
A lovely moist type of fruit loaf. Eat on its own or spread with butter or even eat with jam and clotted cream.
Ingredients
3 cups mixed fruit1 1/4 cups brown sugar

By not adding sugar it is an excellent cake for anybody on a diet.
I just sprinkle 1/2 teaspoon over the mixture once it's in the loaf tin.
