How to make coffee flavoured icing with walnuts:
Deliciously nutty coffee flavoured icing. Primarily used in making coffee cakes, such as London Coffee House Cake.


4oz shelled walnuts, chopped finely
1lb icing/confectioner's sugar sieved
6oz butter
2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon coffee essence
(see measure conversions for more information)


- Cream the butter with half of the icing sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the other half of the icing sugar, the milk and the coffee essence and beat until as light and fluffy.
- Mix in the chopped nuts.
- Use to fill and cover the cake.
