Starter - Pumpkin Gnocchi
Main Course - Chicken Breast Oriental Style
Dessert - A Tansy of Damsons and Apples
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
6 large flat mushrooms, peeled and sliced
1/4 cucumber, cut into chunks
3 tablespoons chopped walnuts
for the marinade:
2 inches fresh ginger, peeled and finely chopped
4 tablespoons soy sauce
5 tablespoons dry sherry
1 teaspoon five spice powder
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Slice the chicken breasts.
- Place sliced chicken in the marinade and allow to stand for at least one hour.
- Remove the chicken and reserve the marinade.
- Heat the oil in a large pan and add the chicken.
- Add the mushrooms, cucumber and walnuts.
- Cook until the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
- Remove from the heat.
- Stir in the marinade.
- Taste and adjust the seasoning.
- Serve with boiled noodles.

How to make chicken breast oriental style:
Your local grocer should have great flat mushrooms available at the moment and they add a really meaty flavor to this dish which borrows a lot from Eastern cooking.
Ingredients
4 chicken breasts, skin removed3 tablespoons vegetable oil
6 large flat mushrooms, peeled and sliced
1/4 cucumber, cut into chunks
3 tablespoons chopped walnuts
for the marinade:

4 tablespoons soy sauce

Method
