1/4 pint coconut milk
pinch cayenne pepper
level teaspoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon chopped ham or tongue
3/4 pint vegetable stock
seasoning
juice 1 lemon
1 onion

- Cut away the greater part of the stalk and cut leaves into thin slices.
- Wash, drain and put into a pan with boiling stock and coconut milk.
- Boil the cabbage for a few minutes.
- Add the turmeric, ham, sliced onion and season to taste.
- Continue to simmer until the cabbage and onion are quite soft.
- Add the cayenne pepper and lemon juice and, if too dry, a little milk.
