How to make bran muffins:
Low in fat and sugar with bran and dried fruit for fiber these muffins make an ideal breakfast or an anytime snack.


1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1 cup bran
1/4 cup salad oil
3/4 cup seedless raisins
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 granulated sugar
2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

- Beat the egg.
- Add the milk, bran, salad oil and raisins.
- Stand to allow the liquids to be absorbed.
- Sift the flour, sugar and baking powder together.
- Add the flour mixture to the bran mixture.
- Mix lightly.
- Bake in greased muffin tins at 400 degrees Fahrenheit (see temperature conversions) for 20-25 minutes.
- Serve hot.
