2/3 cup sugar
2 cups mixed dried fruits
1 1/4 cups milk
1 cup self-rising flour
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Mix them well together and stir in the milk.
- Leave to stand for half an hour.
- Sift in the flour, mixing well and pour the mixture into a greased 2lb loaf tin.
- Bake in oven at 180 degrees centigrade (see temperature conversions) for about 1 hour.
- Turn out of the tin and allow to cool.
- Serve sliced, spread with butter.

How to make bran fruit loaf:
A fiber filled variation on the usual fruit loaf.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cup All-Bran or Bran Buds2/3 cup sugar
2 cups mixed dried fruits

- Put the All-Bran, sugar and dried fruit into a bowl.- Mix them well together and stir in the milk.
- Leave to stand for half an hour.
