1 tablespoon flour (white or wholemeal)
1 tablespoon dry breadcrumbs (white or wholemeal)
1 medium onion chopped
freshly ground black pepper
1/4 pint dry red wine
1/2 pint beef or vegetable stock
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Place in a casserole dish.
- Combine flour, breadcrumbs, onion, pepper, wine and stock.
- Pour over meat or tofu and stir to mix.
- Cover and bake in a oven at 150 degrees centigrade (see temperature conversions) for about 3 hours.
- Serve with rice or noodles.

This casserole should serve between two and four people depending on appetite. It is good served with boiled potatoes or jacket potatoes plus another root vegetable of choice (mashed swede or whatever) and one or two green vegetables (cauliflower goes well).
