2 cups self raising flour
1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs beaten with 2 tablespoons milk
1 tablespoon chopped peel
4 large cooking apples, peeled and diced
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Cream the sugar and butter with a wooden spoon.
- Add the eggs and milk to the butter and sugar mix.
- Fold in the flour and apple mixture with a metal spoon.
- Put into a greased 7 inch cake tin lined with grease proof paper.
- Bake at 180 degrees centigrade (see temperature conversions) for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.
- Leave to cool a little in the cake tin then transfer to wire cooling rack.

How to make apple cake:
An extremely moist and easy to make cake. Because it is so moist it does not keep as well as a traditional fruit cake so is best eaten within a few days of cooking.
Ingredients
3 tablespoons butter2 cups self raising flour

Method
- Stir the apples into the flour.- Cream the sugar and butter with a wooden spoon.
- Add the eggs and milk to the butter and sugar mix.
- Fold in the flour and apple mixture with a metal spoon.
- Put into a greased 7 inch cake tin lined with grease proof paper.
