AUGUST 2010 RECIPES
Three recipes which are just right for a warm summer's day. We start with a Chilled
Green Soup that is made from lettuce and watercress. To follow we have a Savoury
Mince Meat Pie which is equally good served hot or cold with a crispy, green
salad. To finish the menu our supreme summer desert is Italian Lemon Ice Cream,

Shortbreads are a well-known favourite and would probably have been one of the
best-loved biscuits in the NAAFI canteen. They are a very rich biscuit having a
high proportion of butter to flour. This would obviously have presented some
