Bath Soak Recipes
PLEASE NOTE:Although all the ingredients in these beauty recipes are natural, remember that it is still possible to be allergic to anything applied to the skin. DO NOT USE ANYTHING NUT BASED ON YOUR SKIN IF YOU HAVE A NUT ALLERGY. To test other ingredients make up a very small amount of the recipe you intend to use. Wash and gently dry a small patch of skin inside your elbow. Apply a little of the mix to the skin and leave for 48 hours. If you experience any redness or swelling DO NOT USE THE BEAUTY RECIPE AT ALL.

Citrus Bath Soak Recipe
Ingredients1oz dried orange peel
1oz dried lemon peel
1oz dried chamomile flowers
1oz fine oatmeal
Method- Mix all the ingredients together and put into a muslin bag.
- Put the bag into the water as you run the bath.
- Lasts for about six baths.
Fragrant Bath Soak Recipe
Ingredients1 cup dried elderflowers
1 cup dried blackberry leaves
1 teaspoon dried lovage root
2 drops rose geranium oil
Method- Combine all the ingredients and put into several muslin bags.
- Place one bag in your bath.
- Each bag can be used up to four times.
Herbal Bath Soak Recipe
Ingredients3 tablespoons medium oatmeal
1 1/2 tablespoons dried mixed herbs i.e. marjoram, lavender, rosemary and lovage root
Method- Put all the ingredients into a double muslin bag.
- Dangle in the bath water before bathing.
Milk and Honey Bath Soak Recipe
Ingredients1 and 1/2 oz bicarbonate of soda
3 pints of milk made-up from dried milk powder
2 tablespoons honey
1 pint lukewarm water
Method- Dissolve the soda and salt in the luke warm water.
- Warm the milk and add the honey to it.
- Add both mixtures to the bath.
Milk Bath Soak Recipe
Ingredients1 cup dried milk powder
Method- Add the dried milk powder to the bath and agitate to dissolve.
Skin Soothing Bath Soak Recipe
Ingredients4 tablespoons oatmeal
1 old white cotton pillowslip
Method- Put oatmeal into pillowslip.
- Tie top of pillowslip.
- Put into bath water and squeeze until water is milky.
- Soak in bath for 15 - 20 minutes.
Bath Blend Recipe
Ingredients3 drops geranium essential oil
10ml almond oil
2 drops mandarin essential oil
1 drop Palma Rosa essential oil
1 drop ylang ylang essential oil
Method- Run your bath.
- Add the oils and swish well to dispense.
- Relax back in your bath and let the oils work their magic.
Ginger Bath Recipe
The warming, stimulating properties of ginger when used externally make an invigorating bath. Ginger stimulates the circulation and has a spicy, exotic aroma.
Ingredients1 piece of fresh ginger
muslin or cotton bag
Method- Grate the ginger and place in the muslin bag.
- Allow the bag to dangle under the running hot tap.
- This makes an invigorating bath.
Scented Bath Recipe
Ingredients500ml Witch Hazel
1/2 cup of bay leaves
Method- Put all the ingredients into a jar with a screw top lid.
- Leave in a warm sunny spot for 2 weeks stirring every day.
- Put a little into your bath.
Shower Gel Recipe
Ingredients2 tablespoons unperfumed shower gel
2 drops peppermint essential oil
3 drops rosemary essential oil
2 drops lemon balm essential oil
Castille soap can be used as a base for this recipe.
Method- Mix ingredients together in a small plastic bottle.
- Use as a shower gel.
- As with most bathing products do not get in eyes.
