Vegetables > Sweetcorn
I would like to know if you can just dry out an ear of sweetcorn and use the seeds to grow or if you have to let it grow to maturity on the stalk before you use it for growing?
Hi,
the answer to this question must depend upon the climate you are growing in. If you are in an arid hot climate then you probably could dry the ear on the stalk, but if you are in a wet maritime climate (like the UK), you would be much safer to dry the corn in a glasshouse or a conservatory. I have seen it done; it is quite possible.
