Iam from South India. I have eaten this purslane leaf at my inlaws place. Its very very delicious when cooked with tomatos like curry. It goes very well with rice. The recipe is: small onion chopped into small pieces, two medium tomatos, one green chilli, enough salt( very little salt is required), and red chilli powder . Heat 2 tablespoon oil and put some cumin and mustard seeds. U can add little bit garlic too. Put onions and let it cook very well or golden brown. Then add tomatos, salt and cook them very well. Add little bit red chilli powder. Turn off the stove and add corriander( little bit). Thats it!
It goes very well with rice. I found purslane in my backyard. I couldnot believe it because its growing like a weed with lawn grass. I sneeked out and make sure nobody is watching me and picked some purslane. I cooked it to make sure the purslane is same as i tasted it in India. And it is! I collected some seed pods from it. I have to check if i can grow them. Enjoy it.
