French sorrel likes partial shade and ordinary soil.

Appearance

Large leaved, growing to a height of 30cm.

Uses

French Sorrel can be cooked like spinach or used to make soup. In France it is used with rabbit dishes. It has a very lemony taste.

Laurier is bay and as far as I can make out laurier sauce is a sauce made from bay leaves. I Googled it and found a couple of recipes involving white wine,butter and bay leaves.

We have a tree in our French Garden ... our local garden centre owner told me the leaves can be used for certain sauces ... he called it Laurier Sauce. Has anyone herd of this, and if so does anyone have a recipe?
