I had recently planted catnip seeds in the same pot with an indoor Christmas tree. I usually put the pot out in the spring and summer. Recently all the catnip stems turned purple and the leaves have a slight shade of purple. Could you tell me if this is normal?
Catnip can have a blue - grey foliage, perhaps you have a highly coloured cultivar. How old is the soil in the pot? If it is old stuff it may be that your seedlings are suffering from a deficiency. I think that you should perhaps transplant some of the seedlings into a new pot with fresh potting compost, and see how they do. It also might be the case that catnip doesn't like the company of your Christmas tree. You will also find this out by growing some of the seedlings on separately.
