How to make vegetarian Christmas pudding:
The traditional dessert for the christmas meal. The concept of the christmas pudding harks back to the ancient use of spices and dried fruits in meat dishes, the suet being the vestiges of the meat content. There are links below to other recipes you may want to try.



Ingredients

6 cups flour
2 cups currants
2 tablespoons treacle
1 1/4 cups vegetarian suet (or alternative)
1 cup sugar
2 cups raisins
1/2 cup peel
water or beer

Method

- Mix all the ingredients together.
- Use water or beer to bind.
- Boil for 4-6 hours.
- Serve with caster/superfine sugar, brandy butter, Cumberland rum butter or cream (clotted or double).
