3 tablespoons sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons porridge oats
2 teaspoons dried yeast
1/2 pint warm water
for filling and topping:
2 tablespoons softened butter
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
(see measure conversions for more information)
- Mix the yeast with a little of the water, pour into the dry ingredients.
- Mix with the remaining water into soft dough.
- Knead on a floured board for 10 minutes.
- Roll the bread into a rectangle, spread with the mixed filling of the butter, sugar and cinnamon.
- Roll up into a long tube shape sealing the edges and twist into an S shape.
- Brush with the remaining butter and place onto a greased baking tray.
- Leave to prove until double in size.
- Bake in a preheated oven 190oC/375oF/gas mark 5 for 30 minutes.
